Coastal reforestation helps in erosion control, protection of the nearby communities through storm surge and tidal currents mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and water quality improvement, among others.<br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"975\" height=\"731\" src=\"https:\/\/commtechasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-19.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2388\" style=\"width:600px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/commtechasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-19.png 975w, https:\/\/commtechasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-19-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/commtechasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-19-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 975px) 100vw, 975px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>The team, together with some of the locals, walked about a kilometer from the shore to get to the planting site while the tide was low. Doing this under the heat of the sun proved to be a challenge because it was like walking on mud (good thing that the team came prepared with our knee-high boots and protective wear!).
