Our History
From our humble beginnings in 1980 – to establishing our Asia operations in 1999, we have built an unrivalled team of specialist engineers and technical experts and are continually evolving to respond to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
Our early years were led by a handful of passionate engineers, who shared a vision to provide a truly independent service for the commissioning of buildings .
Today, as a market leader, we continue to provide exceptional-quality service in the industry. From Hong Kong to Tokyo and Sydney to Manila, we are focused on delivering independent commissioning management services and integrated project solutions for properties, facilities, and developments.

1990s
In 1992, Commtech Ltd relocated from the UK to the Far East, changing its name to Commtech Asia in the process. In 1999, the company opened its first office in Hong Kong and has since expanded across the entire region.
2000-2010’s
During this decade, in addition to expanding to cities such as Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney, Commtech Asia was acquired by an international construction group, starting a new chapter in the company’s history. We also enlarged our territory by registering in Korea.
2021-2024
During the current decade, Commtech Asia has expanded further in Asia, opening offices in Shanghai, Manila, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
In 2021 the Cathexis Group acquired a majority stake in Logi-tek (UK) who would work with Commtech Asia to create a global commissioning and technical services business.
Commtech Asia and Logi-tek (UK) began to trade under a common brand, Sygna, operated as 2 regions, APAC and EMEA.
In late 2023, a strategic decision was taken to focus on our respective regions, and continue to provide unparalleled services to our clients in EMEA and APAC. As part of this strategic refocus the APAC operation will be reverting back to its original name, Commtech Asia, a name with a long history, widely recognized in the APAC region.
Building Confidence
“Building Confidence” carries two meanings. Firstly, it signifies our commitment to delivering assurance and trust to developers. Secondly, it reflects our own confidence to lead the way in the commissioning and engineering consultancy sector in the Asia Pacific area.
Our business has expanded from its origins in Hong Kong to almost every country in the region. We will continue to focus on the Asia Pacific region, delivering independent commissioning management services and integrated project solutions to property owners, end users and construction specialists.
