JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced and high performing Accountant to join our fast-growing team in Malaysia working closely with Finance team in Singapore remotely. This role is responsible for all round general financial and accounting functions, covering Malaysia and cross supporting other countries within APAC. Involve with the full range of accounting duties and assist in preparation of accurate financial and management information for the Management. This position will be reporting to the Finance Manager.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take all responsibility for all Finance and Accounting activity for Malaysia
- Work with the Singapore Finance team to improve the accuracy of the day-to-day accounting
- Maintain compliance with Group and local policies and procedures, and achieve accurate and timely reporting to APAC Group and local regulatory bodies (Financial reporting, Tax reporting and Statutory/Regulatory reporting)
- Manage and execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including journal entries, adjustments, and accruals to support accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and produce timely and accurate financial and management information, ensuring compliance with statutory regulation and group policies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory returns ensure compliance in accordance to IFRS/MFRS.
- Prepare SST filling and ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. SST, corporate tax, income tax & e-invoice).
- Execute efficient and effective operations in accounting and other regulatory requirements
- Liaison with banks, external auditors, tax agents and company secretary
- Assist and support the Finance Team on technical issues and ad hoc projects
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting documents by ensuring that the general ledger accounts are accurately recorded and in compliance to the accounting standards.
- Conduct variance analysis on GL accounts to identify discrepancies, investigate unusual transactions, and provide insights to management on financial performance.
- Develop and implement internal controls around GL accounting processes, maintaining compliance with relevant policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- Good command of both written and spoken English.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- ACCA certified is preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in broad accounting and finance exposure.
- Experience in ERP similar accounting applications.
